Connect with the heart of GodA study guide for HebrewsHigh lifeCONNECT WITH THE HEART OF GOD I have never heard Charles Price preach but it is obvious to me from reading this book that he’s a man who knows how to communicate the gospel both simply and passionately. Divided into 14 bite-sized chapters, these five sermons (preached at the Keswick Convention) are ideal for daily devotions. The style is warm and personable and Price has the ability to cast fresh light on familiar truths (the chapters on Rest and The New Covenant are pure gold). The chapters were so engaging that I only glanced at the questions. They occasionally seemed a little ambiguous, but the other chapter sections aimed at helping the reader to focus, reflect and respond seemed generally helpful. I would have appreciated a little more explanation of Hebrews 6.4-6 but these are conference sermons. As Price explains in his introduction, deserving sections had ‘to be passed over in the hope of hitting the high peaks’. Charles Price certainly connected with me as a reader spiritually, mentally and emotionally and in so doing helped me to enjoy those glorious high peaks of Hebrews!
