MORE MIRACLES FROM MAYHEM
The continuing story of May Nicholson and the Preshal Trust
By Irene Howat
Christian Focus. 176 pages. £5.99
ISBN 978-1-84550-449-6

This easy-to-read book will do your heart good! It is full of real life stories of people who go in and out of Preshal, a Christian project in Linthouse, a deprived area of Glasgow.

The stories are from workers and visitors to Preshal as well as from several of the daily users of the facilities. What stands out is how easily everyone talks about Jesus. When May Nicholson set up this centre she was very open that it was a Christian concern. However much of life’s baggage people carry through the doors, there is a welcome, help, and an introduction to Jesus awaiting them.

You will read of all the activities and help given to people to overcome loneliness, alcoholism and addictions and you will be cheered to read how lives have been changed and, although most still have struggles, their love for the Lord Jesus and what he has done for them will stand out.

If you are not an avid reader, try this book, it will encourage you. If you are a serious reader, put your theological books aside and spend a little time with people whose lives have been at rock bottom and it will remind you of the reason Jesus came and give you cause to rejoice in the fact that our Lord is alive and at work today,
