So many know the words of choruses but could not tell you the contents of the Old Testament to save their lives. But God has given us the whole Bible because we need the whole Bible. Stuart not only has a marvellous clarity about his teaching, he is one of the few preachers in Britain who has attempted to take a congregation through the whole of Scripture. His aim was to do it every ten years. This second volume of Stuart’s expositions, gathered over the years, contains 293 sermons. Having sat under his ministry in Liverpool, I can guarantee that every single one will do a listener good. These sermons go through whole Bible books, like Isaiah, Mark, Colossians and James. But there are also sermon series on topics like ‘Aspects of Spirituality’ and an overview of what Scripture teaches about the Lord Jesus Christ. I have other members of my family who are involved in a lively but rather lightweight evangelical church. Each Sunday night they come home from church and listen to Stuart. ‘It’s only then that we feel spiritually fed’, they tell me.
