The secret on Ararat

Mixing fact and fiction

THE SECRET ON ARARAT
By Tim La Haye & Bob Phillips
Hodder & Stoughton. 384 pages. £9.99
ISBN 0 340 86371 4

The Secret on Ararat is the second in the Babylon Rising series and claims to be the work of ‘the world’s best-selling supernatural thriller author’. That claim is best left to the reader to decide!

It is an action-packed, fast-paced novel which tells the fascinating story of one man on a death-defying quest to ascend Mount Ararat in search of the remains of Noah’s Ark. The archaeologist concerned, Michael Murphy, is a man of faith and ‘the right kind of hero for times like these’. Inevitably good triumphs over evil, and the plot moves from cliff-hanger to cliff-hanger. Also fascinating is the ‘flashback’ which takes places alongside the main plot. How did Noah and his family really feel as events unfolded?

The book is an easy, entertaining read — just right for the summer holidays. A book to be recommended, but try not to get biblical fact mixed up with fanciful fiction!
