Valuing these three

The title automatically draws the reader to make a comparison with the more famous trio of faith, hope and love.
In this short and readable book, Joel Edwards argues that the classic Christian virtues of 1 Corinthians 13 are desperately needed in 21st-century society. But these days, ordinary people are more likely to recognise them as hope, respect and trust.
The book provides an excellent Christian framework for engagement with modern culture. It is both challenging and balanced. Edwards makes it clear right from the introduction that evangelism is at the heart of his thinking. The values of hope, respect and trust can open up a path for the gospel.
This book will challenge people in both Christian and secular employment. Edwards has raised a number of questions for me which require further reflection. Others will find it a helpful guide for working out how to make an impact for Christ in contemporary society.
