Zephaniah is not the most attractive book in the minor prophets, because the message is one of judgement; therefore we have probably been discouraged from studying it. Daniel Webber has come to our aid and effectively opened up this book, showing in a very straightforward way that Zephaniah has much to say to us now.

The text is profitably brought alive, and its message successfully applied to the issues facing the church in today's society. Its style makes it easy reading, with a helpful introduction surveying the historical background, and explaining how to interpret prophetic literature, followed by ten chapters of exposition, each concluding with a couple of pages headed 'Points to ponder'. This is where 'life' is injected into the book and the message related to our spiritual needs.

This commentary is well worth possessing. The reader will be wiser, and spiritually rewarded by sitting down with Zephaniah and listening to his explaining what God has to say to us through his servant of God. You will learn much about God and even more about yourselves. I have benefited from this book, and I am sure others will do the same. I thoroughly recommend it.
