Taming the tigerKung Fu fightingTAMING THE TIGER Billed as 'the remarkable true story of', this is not a book I would normally have chosen when browsing in the bookshop, but I found it gripping and challenging. Tony Anthony was ruthlessly trained by his grandfather to become an unfeeling and violent champion of Kung Fu who used his skills to become a bodyguard, murderer and thief. His testimony of the faithful witness of a Christian visitor to the prison where he was incarcerated, his conversion and the subsequent highs and lows of his Christian life are both heart-warming and hugely challenging. Although the detail of some of the fights he was involved in makes unpleasant reading, the gospel message is very clearly explained, making this a book of value to believing and unbelieving readers, perhaps particularly those interested in Chinese martial arts. Put it on your Christmas list, or better still, buy it for someone else! Jen Watkins,
