GRACE - AMAZING GRACE
By Brian H. Edwards
DayOne. 352 pages. £9.99

This is a book for all sorts of people. It is a book for anyone who is beginning to tire of the word 'Grace'. It is a book for anyone who is tempted to think that he has discovered all there is to know about 'Grace'.
It is a book to give to someone whom you want to introduce to 'the doctrines of Grace'. Most of all it is a book for those who simply want to revel in 'Grace'. It is certainly written by a man who is amazed by grace. This is an excellent book.
It is divided into 16 chapters in each of which Brian Edwards looks at 'Grace' from a different angle. Every chapter is good but those that stand out are on 'The grace of law', 'Incarnate grace', 'Forgiving grace', 'Sufficient grace', 'Community grace', and 'Ultimate grace'.
Each chapter is thorough in dealing with its subject. It is deep but very readable, full of illustration and striking statements. In the chapter on 'Forgiving grace' there is a very helpful section on whether we should forgive those who have sinned against us but are unrepentant.
The chapter on 'Community grace' should be compulsory reading for all who attend our churches. This book is warmly recommended.
