DISCOVER Bible note for young people (3-week starter pack)For new ChristiansDISCOVER Bible notes for young people (three-week starter pack) This three-week starter pack is ideal for helping young people (aged 8-11?) get to grips with the Bible on a daily basis. The notes assume no prior knowledge of the Bible and would be particularly user-friendly for 'non-churched' kids. Each study draws out one main point from a Bible passage (average of four verses) and can easily be completed within 10-15 minutes. These notes aim to explain the Bible clearly, helping young people to enjoy their reading of Scripture, and ultimately to encourage them to turn to Jesus and follow him. The first and third weeks look at Jesus's teaching in Luke 13-15; the middle week concentrates on a brief Bible overview of God's rescue plan. The gospel message is made very plain. I liked the way the notes weren't trying to be so trendy that it was impossible to work out which bit of text to read next! Word puzzles are used frequently to help the message sink in further (I never liked these when I was young, but I can see they serve a purpose). This starter pack is a great introduction to the habit of daily Bible reading, and caters well for such a diverse age group. Miriam Horrocks,
