Coming home to God
COMING HOME TO GOD

Evangelical Press. 78 pages. £3.95

This slim book is basically a new look at the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
It is written with both a perceptive eye and a tender heart, and so reflects Jesus's great sympathy for lost sinners and their need to receive God's love before it's too late.
The author then helpfully goes beyond the parable into a few chapters detailing a young Christian's pilgrimage, and reflects on both Christian maturity and heaven as a great feast. The style is down-to-earth and yet, at the same time, contains freshness of phrase and application which is a delight.
This would make a good book to give to a thoughtful, middle-aged friend who is thinking seriously about the kingdom of God.
