Lives turned upside down

Out of the ordinary

LIVES TURNED UPSIDE DOWN
By Faith Cook
Evangelical Press. 160 pages. £7.95
ISBN 0 85234 521 6

This book is based on a series of articles published in Evangelical Times, 'Triumphs of Grace'.

How encouraging it is to be reminded in these biographies that God takes quite ordinary people and some from dysfunctional backgrounds, changes them inside out and then uses them to turn their societies upside down!

Life with Christ was no picnic for those believers whose lives, and deaths, are sketched on the pages of this book. Alongside the well-known names of the past like John Cennick is just one person who is alive today, David. Perhaps there could have been more contemporary additions? The beautifully crafted language, and the short chapters of the book mean that it would be suitable to be read aloud. It would make an excellent gift for an avid reader of biography and the literate student.
