THE STONE THAT BECAME A MOUNTAIN
By Richard Bewes
Christian Focus. 175 pages. £5.99
ISBN 185792 714 1

No subject is more likely to be misunderstood and foolishly proclaimed than the kingdom. Richard Bewes very carefully sets out seven dangerous errors on this theme, which would make the book worthwhile if there was nothing else within it.
But there is much more. The whole theme of the kingdom of God, with its title from the book of Daniel, is in the context of changing world scenes, making this an excellent evangelistic tool for thinking people after the events of September 11 last year.

The writer is, of course, pre-eminently a preacher and the book has that ethos. It is full of good illustrations and well set within the biblical context, including a willingness to tackle complex prophesies.

In the light of much in the world to discourage Christians, this book is a timely reminder of the final victory of the kingdom of God for which we pray and fight.
