Distinctives: daring to be different in an indifferent world
Distinctives: daring to be different in an indifferent world

Here is a book that refreshes. If you need something to keep your eyes on your heavenly hope in the midst of a world that demands that we stay focussed on the here and now, then take up and read this little volume.
Taken from what appear to be a series of sermons, the chapters of this book deal with how to respond to seven key issues in today's culture. These include our need for a heavenly perspective in a world obsessed with the moment; what real contentment is in an insatiable culture; and what Christian service is about in a world where Gloria Gaynor's 'I will survive' has become a Karaoke anthem for thousands.
What is useful about this little book is how it mixes real scriptural truth with a light, witty touch. And there are a liberal smattering of very memorable stories(preaching magpies take note).
Throughout the different issues, the question that is returned to is this: do we as Christians in a post-Christian environment dare to be different? I hope that we do. Vaughan Robert's book exhorts us to pursue that goal.
