Growing Young Disciples SeriesGrowing Young Disciples Series This helpful thought-provoking series is for young people wanting to know about Christianity. It comprises five practical Bible study workbooks. It is a useful tool for youth leaders wanting to pastor and lead their young people to Christ. The booklets are modern, with attractive glossy covers and cartoons, and it would be easy for evangelical youth leaders with 'churched' youngsters to dismiss these booklets as simplistic. They provide a logical progression from seeker to disciple, seeking to answer doubts that arise on the way. Discovering Jesus (£2.00) deals with God, Jesus and me, and looks at the death of Jesus and our response. First steps: starting to follow Jesus (£2.50), deals with what has happened at conversion, joining the family of God, listening and talking to God and a new way to live. How to really stick at being a Christian (£2.50) is eight studies in 1 Peter, dealing with basic issues of Christian living. Second thoughts: dealing with doubts (£2.00), covers assurance, love, perseverance in sanctification and witnessing. Life to the MAX (£2.00) deals with living by trusting Jesus, overcoming temptation, forgiving and giving like God does. The booklets will have most value when youth leaders meet with their young people, individually or in a group, to discuss their answers and develop their thinking and lead them to Christ, and then encourage them to take their place as active church members.
