'You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.' (Jeremiah 29.13). God wants to be found, but there is a condition: we must seek with all our heart.
Twila Paris seeks God and passes on her insights in her 'journal', which is a series of readings based on the theme of gardening carried on through the four seasons - like a modern and more subjective version of Living Light. The comments on Bible verses and the songs are written by Twila Paris. The depth of insight varies; sometimes the light-heartedness is simply superficial, such as her comment on the fruit of the Spirit that rather than focus on the characteristics, we should focus on Christ, which will produce fruit in our lives.
However, in other areas she is more profound: her wish that God would use someone else to write songs of pain and perseverance and let her 'write about the fun things in the Christian life' will ring a bell with many who wish God's call was to a different path. Subjective, sometimes slight, always well-intentioned and faithful to the Bible and the teachings she has grown up in, this will prove useful to wholehearted God-seekers who benefit from daily readings to ponder and pray over.
