This is a book of tricks which can be used to illustrate some point about the gospel. Like the illusionist Andre Cole who worked with Campus Crusade for many years, Keith Wills is an experienced evangelist who often draws a crowd with his tricks and uses the opportunity to share something about the Lord Jesus Christ.
There are a couple of introductory chapters with a history of illusionists in which the author distances himself from any kind of occult magic, but defends the idea of using the sleight of hand to convey a point. Many tricks are given and they are set out very methodically. We are told the equipment we need, the secret of the trick, the effect and then the suggested gospel application.
The tricks vary markedly in the amount of skill required to perform them, but although the simpler ones may make some great children's talks, there is tremendous potential for totally embarrassing failure with the more difficult tricks.
