Living Water - Finding Real Life In Jesus
LIVING WATER -
Finding real life in Jesus
By John Benton
Gwasg Bryntirion Press. 40 pages. £1.99
Before reading this booklet, written by the editor of EN , I did wonder what I would dare to write if I didn't like it!
Fortunately, I genuinely took to this evangelistic tool. John Benton has provided for us a book which can be passed on to thinking people. He succinctly argues that each person has an unsatisfied thirst for spiritual life which can only be fulfilled in Christ.
The cover is attractive and the text easy to read. There is a very clear and faithful explanation of the gospel, written in an appealing way, with a good smattering of illustrations, some of which are very graphic. I'm not sure that it was Aldous Huxley who coined the phrase 'a God-shaped blank' in each individual, but there is an unmistakable pointer to Christ who can fill it.
The booklet is much more than a tract, and will winsomely appeal to people who want quick explanations and answers. The author writes of some of the less popular aspects of the gospel, such as judgment and hell, in a compassionate way that keeps clear the character of God, but remains true to the Scripture.
I will use this booklet in my own evangelistic work and wholeheartedly commend it to others.
