Michael Keen describes the work that produced this book as 'a labour of love'. In 1979, he started to compile an index of articles from some 612 documents.
His goal was to produce a tool that would facilitate easier access to some of the riches of recent and contemporary literature. The result is a comprehensive list of the articles printed in the Banner of Truth Magazine between 1956 and 1997, in Reformation Today from 1970 to 1997, and of the published papers given at the annual Puritan and Reformed Studies Conference between 1956 and 1969 and its successor, The Westminster Conference, from 1971 to 1997. All dates are inclusive. The entries are by author and title.
Some may wish that the sources used had included other publications, but the compiler's chosen field does not detract from the potential usefulness of this volume for both preachers and interested Christians. The only omission discovered is the name of the author of an article on the Newcastle Riots (p.183).
Christians, especially those of a Reformed persuasion, owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Keen and the publishers for this invaluable resource. It will prove to be an indispensable aid to the exploration of issues relating to church history, dogmatic theology and pastoral life.
