In this book, seven Arab Christians and one Western Christian worker speak of their love for the Jewish nation of Israel. After the author’s brief and concise introduction at the beginning of each chapter, their stories unfold.

Mostly set against the backdrop of the war in the Middle East, these are open and honest accounts of events in their lives. Some tell of the ways in which the war had a profoundly negative effect on their attitude towards the nation of Israel, and how, as a result of being convicted by the power of God’s word, their hearts began to change.
They share how they began to move from a position of anger and at times hatred for their enemies towards a real desire to forgive. For each man, this process eventually led to a wonderful reconciliation with his Jewish neighbours.

Others share how, as Arabs born in Israel, the Lord has used them to reach out to the Jews after their conversions. The reader is left up to date with each of the men’s ministry in Israel, and the book finishes with one pastor’s assessment of the present situation and the obstacles he believes the church there faces.

Some of the contributors are open in their rejection of Replacement theology, and firmly believe God has not rejected Israel and that it has an important place in God’s plan. A few chapters end with a message to Christians in the West and the encouragement to be open to what they believe God is doing in the Holy Land. Whatever our personal beliefs, the book’s message of forgiveness, reconciliation and love for those who were once seen as enemies is a wonderful reminder of what God can do in a heart that is open, submitted and surrendered to him.
