UNCOVERING THE WORLD
By Jonathan Carswell

An easy read, this book contains various testimonies of students leaving their homeland to come to Britain; none of them were Christians before they came so each chapter tells the reader how he or she was converted.
It is specifically aimed at students coming from abroad to England but could also be a good book for English students (or any unconverted young person!) to read as well as parents who have unbelieving children at university.
The gospel is set out in each case in a very clear and simple way and shows how becoming a Christian changes the whole of our lives as well as the continuing struggles over sin. Each testimony shows a clear progression from conviction of sin to trusting in Christ, although there is an overemphasis at times on weighing up the options and then deciding. It is a shame the author saw the need to invite people to Christ, ‘praying this prayer’ in the epilogue, rather than letting the testimonies speak for themselves.
While not being able to recommend the book wholeheartedly, it is thrilling to see how God works in drawing people from different nationalities out of darkness to the light of the glorious gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
