WHAT WE’VE LEARNED SO FAR

The subtitle of this book tells us that it contains ‘Thoughts on Turning 50 — from Today’s Favourite Christian Women Leaders’.

Lucinda condenses her main discoveries about life into ‘Seven Most Important Truths’: 1. Who I am is more important than what I do. 2. God is in control. 3. Relationships are to be celebrated. 4. Freedom is found in simplicity. 5. Pain either destroys or transforms. 6. Life is full of surprises. 7. Perseverance pays off. She then includes several short pieces on each topic from different women. The comments are grounded in Scripture and everyday life, making them an easy read and relevant to most women.

I found it a helpful read and I’m thinking of lending it to a lady who is on the fringe of church, going through a tough patch and it may just help her back on to the right track. I would recommend it, bearing in mind the Americanisms and the fact that these writers are not well known in Britain (I have only heard of three of them).
