Herein we find two books in one: a spiritual biography and a selection of spiritual poetry.
The biography gives us much, which, if wisely applied into our own lives, will do us good. The spiritual woman can learn from this sister who engaged in such an effective ministry. She surely redeemed the time while never stepping outside her God-ordained sphere. But for us all there is much to consider about how this godly lady studied the Word and sought God in all her ways. In particular we can ponder upon her zeal in evangelism, which was the driving force for her prodigious tract output, a sample of which is found in the appendices.
As for the poetry, I must confess that appreciating poetic writing is not really my forte. However, I suggest that for those with a taste for such there is much to delight, invigorate and educate. The poems are not for a cursory read, but rather for slow meditation. Using them as a part of your quiet time would very likely be helpful: one verse or one poem a day. Each poem would, no doubt, continually be sending your soul in a helpful heavenward direction and that cannot be bad.
