Becoming a Contagious Christian

Becoming a Contagious Christian
By Bill Hybels
Zondervan/Scripture Press. £4.99
ISBN 1 89893 8067

Having previously read quite a number of books on evangelism, I was undecided whether to buy yet another one or concentrate on trying to practise what I have already learnt. Then along came Word Alive and this was a recommended book, so I splashed out to get it.
I was very glad I did. The author is well-known as the senior pastor of Willow Creek Community Church in Illinois, USA, which has a worldwide reputation for innovative evangelism. After reading just the first few pages, I was completely grabbed and motivated with the idea of becoming a really 'contagious' Christian. I literally couldn't put the book down until I had read it all. It is a book which is very practical and incredibly thorough.
It is divided into sections covering areas like the witness of our lives, the necessity of actually spending time with non-Christians, and how to communicate the gospel effectively. I tried to write all the most important points, but my notes ended up almost as long as the book itself! It is all so good. I can only say that this is an excellent book and very definitely worth reading.
