With sexual immorality at an all time high, the importance of sound moral Christian teaching with regards to sexual behaviour amongst our young cannot be over-emphasised. The pressure on youngsters to have sex outside of marriage has never been greater and the consequences never more dangerous. Yet there has been a complete dearth of good, sound advice based on Biblical truth and written specifically for the youngsters themselves. Until now that is ....

In a sexually corrupt world where bad is often seen as good and vice versa, Dr. Williams successfully challenges the norm with two excellent booklets - pink for girls and blue for boys - outlining the Christian teaching on sexual behaviour and emphasising the importance of modesty, chastity and chivalry.

In both booklets, Dr. Williams states the facts clearly and leaves no room for doubt, continuously using examples from the Bible to emphasise essential points. Unlike some, he pulls no punches when describing the physical, emotional and spiritual consequences of sex outside of marriage. The advice is backed up with examples from the media which will be all too familiar to youngsters today and thus allows them to question the motives behind a whole industry based on titillation and seduction.

The attractive bright pink and bright blue covers will undoubtedly catch the attention of the young. Inside, the underlying message of hope is just as clear, bright and attractive. Even non-Christian youths cannot fail to see the wisdom behind the message, since the inescapable yet ugly facts of underage and commitment-free sex that Dr. Williams so vividly outlines cannot be disputed.

The booklets are full of such important information and advice that they should be made available to every youngster in the UK, although in order to appeal to those most at risk, the Christian benefits of chastity may have to be toned down in favour of a broader message of abstinence.

My only criticism is that Dr. Williams assumes that readers will want to eventually have sex, be blessed with a family, and will be able to enjoy God's gift of parenthood. 1 Corinthians 7.8,27,32 & 37 have been much neglected by the pro-marriage lobby. In promoting chastity, we must not fall into the trap of portraying marriage as God's ultimate desire for us all, since that would be simply substituting one damaging message for another.

Still, a refreshing change to the destructive and compromising liberal 'safe' sex advice presently dished out with impunity, these booklets are an essential and most urgent necessity.
