The Christian Pastor's Manual

Here is a compilation of 15 papers and sermons delivered by godly ministers (Erskine, Watts, Doddridge, Newton and others) on the subject of the pastor's ministry.
Every possible area is thoroughly covered in wonderful and helpful detail. Although there is quite a bit of overlap between the various contributors, this does not at all detract but serves to emphasise exactly what the Christian pastor ought to be about.
The pastor's duties of prayer and ministry of the word are held up constantly; Doddridge calls to us over the centuries not to neglect immortal souls placed in our care; Jennings warms our hearts by exhorting ministers to experimental preaching and that the focus must always be Jesus Christ.
Erskine covers the qualifications necessary; he and Booth deliver timely cautions to the minister... and much, much more. The book is a must for every concerned pastor seeking to minister in these difficult days. Elders and deacons, Sunday school teachers and youth leaders will benefit greatly from the many challenges. There are good helps too for the man and woman in the pew; how to listen to sermons, act on them, how to pray for the pastor and the ministry.
I wholeheartedly recommend this most excellent book.
