A new book from Derek Prime is always welcome. Since he retired from the pastorate at Charlotte Chapel many have benefited from his preaching and writing ministry.
In this book he takes us through the Lord's Prayer and considers the ways in which we ought to use the prayer, and the principles it teaches, in both public worship and our private prayers. The book is clearly written and easy to understand. The layout is pleasing with a good size of print, clear headings and short sentences.
Mr. Prime's writing is a model of faithful biblical teaching and helpful practical application.
This book will repay thoughtful and prayerful reading. It encourages us to foster a healthy prayer life. It will be very helpful for new Christians who are learning to pray.
It will also help to revitalise the prayer life of more mature Christians, for whom prayer is not always easy. Mr. Prime feels that as churches and Christians we have neglected this prayer and failed to recognise the significance of our Lord's teaching on this important matter. The effect on me of reading this book was to encourage me to pray more, and to realise again the great privilege of praying to our heavenly Father, with whom we have come into a living relationship through our Lord Jesus Christ!
