WILD AT HEART: Discovering the secret of a man's heart

This book seeks to answer the questions: 'What is a man?' and 'What is wrong with today's men?'. It provides a very powerful and strident thesis which is difficult to ignore. Slightly theologically wobbly but a very stimulating read for both men and women.

LIFE OF PI

This novel was the winner of the Mann Booker Prize in 2002. Its strange story presents a kind of modern version of Pascal's pragmatic argument for belief in God.

A THOUSAND MILES OF MIRACLE

This is a reprint of an old classic. It gives an eye-witness account of the escape of a missionary family from the terrors of the Boxer rebellion in China in 1901. It is an encouraging story of extraordinary prayer, faith and courage in the face of immense suffering.
