HOW DEEP THE FATHER'S LOVE
CD by Ann Gall
SRS Music
Available for £10 (plus p&p) from AG Music, 395A (1st) Walworth Road,
London SE17 2AW.

If you are feeling in need of being soothed and built up in Christ with some Christian truth set to melody and beautifully sung in the classic style, this CD could be the tonic for you.

Ann Gall is a mezzo soprano who has recently retired from the English National Opera. Her voice is a joy to listen to. She went to Birmingham College of Art where she became a Christian in her first year. She worked for four years as a student counsellor with UCCF. But her great gift and interest has always been in music and the sense of her enthusiasm for God and his truth is very evident in the performances on this recording.

This selection of her work is gentle and quite varied. Some of the music is easily accessible and enjoyable like her excellent rendition of Stuart Townend's How Deep the Father's Love, and the song This love is mine. Other pieces are less well known but grow on you the more you listen. All the backing tracks are excellently arranged and performed by Roger Mayor. It would be good to see Ann's work stocked by Christian bookshops.
