News in Brief

  • Miss Guided

    The Christian Institute

Guide leaders who objected to rules which permit men to join the organisation if they say they are women have been kicked out and their units shut down, it was reported in 23 September.

Guidelines, published in January 2017, said boys could share tents, changing areas and shower facilities with the opposite sex if they say they are girls. If the expulsions are upheld, many children will be left without a Guide unit in their area.

  • NIPT in the bud?

    Christian Concern

A BBC programme in mid-September revealed that, online, thousands of women discussed the use of a pre-natal test (NIPT) to find out the sex of their child, to abort it if it was a girl.

So the Labour Party decided to put pressure on the government to look into this and ‘enforce appropriate restrictions’. In 2015 many MPs rejected an attempt to make ‘gendercide’ illegal.
