This excellent account of some of the most popular Bible stories is written in easy-to-read style.

It includes humorous illustrations by Mychailo Kaybrid. The text is made accessible to the older junior school child, as well as the young teen, with its use of common colloquialisms and topical references. The opening chapter gives an overview of the Old Testament up to the point of the coming of Jesus. Stories are presented in chronological order and Jill's ability to present the account through the eyes of one of the characters creates an immediacy which draws the reader in.

Each story begins with a time-line indicating where the story fits in history - a useful tool for both adults and children. At the end, there is a glossary of the main characters with a summary of their involvement in the Bible stories.
I would have no hesitation in giving this to my own children to read and enjoy!
