Ben is a book for children aged 6-8 years old. Ben is at the stage in his development his curiosity about life and living is his great driving force. He is the child of Christian parents so he knows a great deal about God, but nothing about a personal faith and experience of God.

The book is simply written with effective black-and-white drawings to illustrate the text. It is a story of 'everyday' life in a Christian family - the pastor comes to tea, a missionary comes to stay, Ben disobeys mum - and through it all Ben is led to faith in Jesus.

Ben is a good read for children and appropriate for the age group that Peter Jeffery has set out to reach. It is also encouraging for those Christian parents who always feel that they are doing the wrong thing with their children - the power of God through the Holy Spirit always finds those who are to be his!
