You would have found it hard to avoid astrology at the start of the new millennium. Ads on TV heavily promoted endless newspaper supplements offering us insight into our personal futures, via the mysterious workings of the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Many people who turn to their 'stars' for light relief end up taking what they read fairly seriously, and some are inveigled into exploring the occult more seriously via this route.

This double cassette tape, available from Reachout Trust, contains four conversations on the subject of horoscopes and astrology. Hosted by Doug Harris, two of the contributors, Peter McCarthy and Paul Heather were practising astrologers before being converted to Christ.

The fourth participant is Kevin Logan, an Anglican minister who has spent many years helping those involved in the occult.

There is an acknowledgement that many people involved in astrology think they are doing good to others, and mean well. But they do not realise that they are contacting evil spirits. The approach to dealing with those who are enslaved by such practises tends towards the charismatic, but is eminently sensible.

These tapes would make a listenable gift to anyone dabbling in this area.
